Vol. 424 No. 9

Written Answers. - Shared Ownership Scheme.

Paul McGrath

Question:

83 Mr. McGrath asked the Minister for the Environment the number, by local authority, of approvals under the shared ownership scheme, which went to social welfare recipients since its introduction; and the number of cases in which the local authorities are paying rent subsidies.

As the administration of the shared ownership system has been devolved to county councils, county borough corporations and Dún Laoghaire Corporation, information is not available in my Department in relation to the circumstances, etc. of individual applicants, or in relation to the number of cases in which subsidy towards the rent element is being allowed.

Information in relation to the numbers of applications under the scheme handled by each authority is contained in the Housing Statistics Bulletins, which are available in the Oireachtas Library.
