Ceisteanna — Questions. Written Answers. - Kildare Sewerage Treatment Plant.

Bernard J. Durkan

Question:

97 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for the Environment , having regard to his reply to Parliamentary Question No. 366 of 7 October 1992, his views on the fact that more than a year has elapsed since he contacted Kildare County Council requesting a report relating to the odour emanating from the sewage treatment plant in Leixlip, County Kildare; if it is intended to contact Kildare County Council again with a view to resolving the problem; if he expects to be in a position to report on the issue in the near future; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Responsibility both for this treatment plant and for responding to my Department's request rests with Kildare County Council. I am however arranging for this and earlier relevant Parliamentary questions to be brought to the County Council's notice.
