I wish to announce for the information of the House that yesterday evening I received the resignations of Deputy Desmond O'Malley and Deputy Bobby Molloy as members of the Government. The Presidential Commission, acting on my advice, have accepted the resignations with effect from yesterday. I have assigned the Department of Energy to myself and the Department of Industry and Commerce to the Minister for Justice, Deputy Pádraig Flynn.
I also received and accepted with effect from yesterday the resignation of Deputy Mary Harney as Minister of State at the Department of the Environment. I do not propose to make any nomination to fill this vacancy.
