Bernard Allen

Question:

71 Mr. Allen asked the Minister for the Marine if he will give a progress report in relation to the marketing of Cork Free Port.

I propose to take Questions Nos. 70 and No. 71 together.

Attracting industry to locate in the Ringaskiddy Free Port and Cork Harbour in general is the responsibility of the IDA, the Free Port Advisory Committee and Cork Harbour Commissioners.

Cork Harbour Commissioners market the portal facilities for the normal trade and traffic activities of the Ferry and Deepwater Terminals and the IDA and the Free Port Advisory Committee have primary responsibility for the attraction of port related industries to the Free Port. I have full confidence in the efforts of the agencies concerned.
