Finance (No. 2) Bill, 1992: Financial Resolutions.

I move:

That section 41 of the Finance Act, 1980 (No. 14 of 1980), which provides the basis of relief from corporation tax in relation to certain income of manufacturing and certain other companies, be amended in the manner and to the extent specified in the Act giving effect to this Resolution.

That section 45 of the Finance Act, 1980 (No. 14 of 1980), which provides rules for computing the tax credit attributable to distributions made for an accounting period in respect of which relief from corporation tax is due in accordance with section 41 of that Act, be amended in the manner and to the extent specified in the Act giving effect to this Resolution.

That Chapter IV of Part I of the Finance Act, 1986 (No. 13 of 1986), which provides for the scheme of deduction of tax from interest payments by certain deposit takers, be amended in the manner and to the extent specified in the Act giving effect to this Resolution.

That, for the purposes of any Act of the present session to charge and impose certain duties of customs and inland revenue (including excise), to amend the law relating to customs and inland revenue (including excise) and to make further provisions in connection with finance, it is expedient to make provision for the charging of fees by the Revenue Commissioners for the furnishing of copies of entries in or information from the register established by the Revenue Commissioners under section 131 of the Finance Act, 1992.

That the duty of excise imposed by section 132 of the Finance Act, 1992, be charged, levied and paid at the rates specified in the Act giving effect to this Resolution.

That provision be made in the Act giving effect to this Resolution for enabling the Revenue Commissioners to determine the open market selling price of certain mechanically propelled vehicles, that is to say, the value of those vehicles by reference to which the duty of excise imposed by section 132 of the Finance Act, 1992, will be calculated and charged thereon.

That provision be made in the Act giving effect to this Resolution for charging the duty of excise imposed on mechanically propelled vehicles by the Finance (Excise Duties) (Vehicles) Act, 1952, with effect from the date of the entry of the vehicle concerned in the register established by the Revenue Commissioners under section 131 of the Finance Act, 1992.

That provision be made in the Act giving effect to this Resolution for imposing a duty of excise on trade licences provided for by that Act for exhibition on mechanically propelled vehicles in accordance with that Act.

That Part I of the Schedule to the Finance (Excise Duties) (Vehicles) Act, 1952, which prescribes duties of excise in respect of mechanically propelled vehicles used on public roads, be amended in the manner and to the extent specified in the Act giving effect to this Resolution.
