Question:

198 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Enterprise and Employment the number and names of persons other than those in the permanent Civil Service, who have been appointed to positions in his Department or other agencies within the ambit of his Department, including Offices of Ministers of State, since the formation of the Government; if he will give details in each case of their job description and conditions of employment; terms of employment, their rank and salary or allowances; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

In so far as my Department is concerned, the details are as follows:

Office of Minister for Enterprise and Employment

One Programme Manager (Mr. F. Roche) whose salary is under negotiation at present.
One Personal Assistant (Ms. D. Rogers) whose salary is under negotiation at present.
Office of the Minister of State for Commerce and Technology
One Special Adviser (Mr. D. Doyle) whose salary is under negotiation at present.
One Personal Assistant (Mr. F. Lahiffe) whose salary is under negotiation at present.
One Personal Secretary (Ms. M. Browne) with a salary scale of £146.90 to £312.45 per week, plus an allowance of £15.58 per week.
In addition, two civilian drivers, each in receipt of a salary of £240.60 per week have been appointed.

Two civilian drivers, each in receipt of a salary of £240.60 per week have been appointed.
All the above mentioned appointments are subject to the terms and conditions of standard contracts.
With regard to the agencies under the aegis of my Department, there has been no appointment of the type referred to in the Deputy's question.
