Vol. 425 No. 7

Written Answers. - Dundalk (Louth) Pedestrian Bridge.

Dermot Ahern

Question:

207 Mr. D. Ahern asked the Minister for the Environment if his attention has been drawn to the depth of feeling in the Quay area of Dundalk, County Louth regarding the lack of proper pedestrian access across the main Dublin Belfast road at the Quay Street/Barracks Street junctions; if he will provide funds to build a foot bridge over the road; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

An application has been submitted by Dundalk UDC for a grant to provide a pedestrian overbridge at the Barrack Street junction of the Dundalk Inner Relief Road. The Council has been asked to supply further details in relation to the need for the overbridge. When this information is received, the question of providing a grant will be considered further.
