Question:215 Mr. P. Gallagher (Laoighis-Offaly) asked the Minister for the Environment the names of local authorities who levy water charges on the basis of consumption, measured by meter; and the type of premises metered.

Full up-to-date information of the kind requested is not available in my Department. However, a survey of water supply services in general, including those aspects referred to in the question, has been initiated. On completion of the survey in the coming months, the Deputy will be advised of the position.
