Question:

216 Mr. Connaughton asked the Minister for the Environment if he will introduce a new tenant purchase scheme for local authority houses in 1993; and if so, when the terms will be announced.

221 Mr. J. Bruton asked the Minister for the Environment when he will introduce a new tenant purchase scheme for local authority tenants.

Gay Mitchell

Question:

233 Mr. G. Mitchell asked the Minister for the Environment if a new local authority tenant purchase scheme will be announced in the near future, as it is now five years since a scheme was made available and many tenants such as a person (details supplied) in County Dublin are paying rents far in excess of what it would cost to purchase.

247 Mr. Creed asked the Minister for the Environment if he will introduce a new tenant purchase scheme; and if so, when details of this will be available.

I propose to take Questions Nos. 216, 221, 233 and 247 together.

Details of a new tenant purchase scheme are under consideration and an announcement in the matter will be made as soon as possible.
