Vol. 425 No. 7

Written Answers. - Dublin Meath Drainage System.

John Bruton

Question:

219 Mr. J. Bruton asked the Minister for the Environment if he has received a submission from Meath and Dublin County Councils which would allow the extension of the Dublin County Sewage system to include Dunboyne so as to relieve pressure on the existing sewage arrangements in Dunboyne, County Meath; and if so, when he will sanction the expenditure on this proposal.

Proposals submitted by Meath and Dublin County Councils to extend the Dublin drainage system to serve the areas of Dunboyne and Clonee are under consideration. Having regard to the existing level of commitments under the water and sanitary services programme, I am not in a position to indicate when a decision may be made.
