248 Mr. Ellis asked the Minister for the Environment if he has reviewed the situation regarding through traffic in Sligo town following the change in the customs regulations on 1 January 1993, which now permit heavy vehicles to travel to County Donegal via Northern Ireland.

It would be a matter for the local authority, in the first instance, to determine if such a review is necessary or desirable. No proposals in this regard have been submitted to my Department.
