Question:

288 Mr. J. Bruton asked the Minister for Defence if Delegation of Function Orders have been made or will be made in respect of the Ministers of State at his Department; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Proinsias De Rossa

Question:

290 Proinsias De Rossa asked the Minister for Defence if all Ministers of State at his Department have been given clear indications of their areas of responsibility; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

I propose to take Questions Nos. 288 and 290 together.

The Government have by order delegated all the statutory powers and duties of the Minister for Defence regarding Civil Defence under the Air-Raid Precautions Acts 1939 and 1946 to the Minister of State at the Department of Defence.
