Question:

342 Mr. Deasy asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry the reason for the delay in payment of a beef premium to a person (details supplied) in County Waterford; and when payment of this will issue.

This applicant's 1992 special beef premium scheme is being processed at present and if found in order will be paid shortly. There is no particular delay in processing this case.

343 Mr. Deasy asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry the reason for the delay in payment of a suckler cow premium and headage payments, under the disadvantaged area scheme, to a person (details supplied) in County Waterford; and when payment of this will issue.

This applicant has already been paid his grants under the 1992 cattle and equines headage and suckler cow premium schemes. His December 1992 application for grants under the EC special beef premium scheme will be processed in due course. There was no particular delay in making the cattle and equines headage and suckler cow premium payments.
