Vol. 425 No. 7

Written Answers. - Temple Street (Dublin) Hospital.

Tony Gregory

Question:

447 Mr. Gregory asked the Minister for Health if he will give details of his response to the request from the Department of Paediatric Opthalmology, Children's Hospital, Temple Street, Dublin 1 for assistance to provide a locum in place of their non consultant doctor (details supplied) in view of the urgency of the request and the waiting lists involved.

The request to which the Deputy refers was received from an individual member of the hospital's staff. I received no communication from the hospital management in the matter. It is a matter for hospital management to ensure that medical and other staff numbers are maintained at levels consistent with the requirements of the service so far as financial resources permit.
