Vol. 425 No. 7

Written Answers. - Appointment of AIDS Co-ordinator.

Bernard Allen

Question:

449 Mr. Allen asked the Minister for Health when he will sanction the appointment of an Aids Co-Ordinator for the Southern Health Board Region.

I have not received any formal request from the Southern Health Board for approval to such an appointment. I understand that the question of the appointment of an AIDS Co-ordinator for the region was considered by a committee of the board which was asked last year to develop a strategy for the Southern Health Board to deal with the HIV/AIDS service.

I will consider various issues which I understand were raised in the committees report when the health board submits it to me.
