Vol. 425 No. 7

Written Answers. - Pay Arrears.

Ivan Yates

Question:

452 Mr. Yates asked the Minister for Health if the arrears of pay recently awarded to other public servants will issue to nurses; and if so, the reason it has not been paid to persons (details supplied) in County Wexford employed by the South-Eastern Health Board.

The arrears due to nurses employed by the South-Eastern Health Board will be paid as follows:

Employees paid on a forthnightly basis: arrears will be paid on 19 February, 1993.

Employees paid on a monthly basis: arrears will be paid on 26 February, 1993.

Payment of arrears due to paramedical and medical grades will be made also on these dates.

About 3,000 employees qualified for payment of arrears in the South-Eastern Health Board. Due to the complexity of the calculations and the multiplicity of grades involved, the Board regrets that despite its best endeavours, it will not be in a position to make payments prior to the above dates.
