Question:514 Mr. McCormack asked the Minister for Education when the contract for an extension and student buildings will be sanctioned for the Regional Technical College, Galway and if she will make a statement on the matter.

Sanction to invite tenders for the student facility and extension to the hotel and catering facility of the college was conveyed to city of Galway Vocational Education Committee in October 1992.
Tenders have been received from the committee by my Department and are under evaluation at present.
Approval to award contracts will be conveyed to the college authorities when a number of queries on the tenders have been clarified.
