Question:

521 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Education the schedule for the implementation and completion of the plans for the provision of extra facilities at Confey College, Leixlip, County Kildare; if the necessary works will be completed in time for the 1993 school term; if the necessary funds are readily available for the completion of the project; if the full complement of the school's requirements will be met in 1993; and if she will make a statement of the matter.

The examination of tenders is being finalised following receipt by County Kildare vocational education committee of a fire certificate. The final decision on placing the contract will depend on the 1993 capital allocation, but, subject to finance being available, it is hoped that new classroom accommodation should be available by September 1993.
