Vol. 425 No. 7

Written Answers. - Cork Teaching Appointment.

Máirín Quill

Question:

557 Miss Quill asked the Minister for Education when it is proposed to appoint a visiting teacher to cater for the needs of Down's syndrome children in the area of Cork city; and if she will make a statement on the matter.

I am currently examining the scope for deployment of additional teaching resources to children with special educational needs.

The appointment of additional Visiting Teachers to address the needs of children with disabilities attending ordinary national schools, including children with Down's syndrome, will form part of this consideration.
