Ivan Yates

Question:

106 Mr. Yates asked the Minister for Finance if in view of the industrial action now being taken by members of the Civil and Public Service Union in relation to inadequate accommodation, the Government will give immediate approval and set out a timetable for the provision of new offices for these public servants in the Employment Office and Tax Offices in County Wexford; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

I propose to take Questions Nos. 105 and 106 together.

A decision has been made to provide centralised offices in Wexford town. Discussions, which are ongoing between the Commissioners of Public Works and Wexford Corporation on the location of the offices, must be completed before a programmed time-frame for building operations can be drawn up.
