Question:126 Mr. Rabbitte asked the Minister for Finance if he will list the countries in the EC which have wealth taxes; the rates of tax applicable; and the way in which they are levied.

I would refer the Deputy to the European Commission publication "Inventory of Taxes Levied in the member states of the European Communities" which contains summary data on this matter. I understand that the 1991 edition of this volume is available in the Oireachtas Library.
