74 Ms McManus asked the Minister for Justice if she will make it compulsory to pay car tax until a certificate is produced showing that the car in question has been properly disposed of, as this would ensure that the ongoing problem of car wrecks around the country would be dealt with.

My Department has no function in this matter. Road tax legislation and the regulations governing its payment are matters, in the first instance, for the Departments of Finance and Environment.
