Vol. 426 No. 2

Written Answers. - Disadvantaged Areas Appeals.

James Leonard

Question:

108 Mr. Leonard asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry when the appeals committee will commence dealing with applications under the severely handicapped scheme.

The present position is that the disadvantaged areas appeals panel is analysing in detail the data from the survey of the 10,000 townlands under appeal for inclusion in the disadvantaged areas. As soon as the panel completes its analysis of areas seeking inclusion it will turn its attention to the preparation of recommendations on the areas under appeal for reclassification.
