128 Mr. Gregory asked the Minister for Education if she will grant-aid St. Vincent's Secondary School, Glasnevin, Dublin 11, for the furnishing of a technology room in their new £140,000 extension, in view of the special emphasis on technological training in the Green Paper on Education; and if she will make a statement on the matter.

As the extension in question was erected in 1990 without any prior agreement with my Department on grant aid, any assistance at this stage would be in the nature of a retrospective grant. In view of the many other demands on the resources available, my Department is not in a position to approve a grant for the furnishing of the technology room.
