Vol. 426 No. 3
45 Ms Keogh asked the Minister for Enterprise and Employment the progress, if any, he has made in establishing the national training scheme as proposed in the Programme for a Partnership Government 1993-1997.
The Programme for a Partnership Government 1993-1997 provides for the establishment, on a tripartite basis, of a comprehensive national training scheme in consultation with the social partners. Preliminary consultations have already taken place with a view to ascertaining the views of the relevant bodies as to how to proceed with the proposal. In order to pursue the proposal further the Minister for Labour Affairs, Mary O'Rourke, TD, is arranging for a further meeting shortly.
