O'Keeffe asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry the reason for the delay in payment of an installation aid premium to a person (details supplied) in County Cork and if he will have arrangements made for immediate payment in view of the financial hardship he is suffering.
Arising from the requirements of the relevant EC Regulation, the processing of applications for the young farmer installation premium is a complex and sometimes lengthy process.
It is hoped to have a final examination of this application concluded shortly. If the applicant is found to be eligible payment will be made as soon as possible.

The 1992 cattle and equines headage application of the person named was incorrectly processed as a beef cow application and paid accordingly. The balance due to him will be paid shortly. He did not apply for grants under the 1992 suckler cow premium scheme. His December 1992 application for grants under the special beef premium scheme will be processed in due course.
