Question:

119 Mr. Noonan (Limerick East) asked the Minister for Defence the plans, if any, he has to recruit cadets into the Defence Forces in 1993; and the steps a person should take to ensure that his application gets full consideration.

The question of cadet recruitment in 1993 is at present under consideration. All cadet competitions are advertised in the national newspapers.

Details of the procedure governing the selection of cadets are contained in a booklet which is issued to each applicant.
