127 Mr. Crowley asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry if a beef premium grant has been approved for a person (details supplied) in County Cork; if so, when payment will issue.

The person named has already been paid his 1992 special beef premium scheme grant on his June-July 1992 application. His December 1992 application under this scheme will be processed in due course.

Question:

128 Mr. Crowley asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry when the balance of a suckler cow grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Cork.

Under the EC Regulations governing the suckler cow premium scheme for small-scale milk producers the person named was deemed to need 13 cows to produce his milk quota of 9,187 gallons. He listed a total of 17 cows on his 1992 suckler cow scheme application and he can be paid grant only on those not deemed necessary to produce his milk quota. He has, therefore, been paid grant in respect of four cows.
