Question:109 Mr. Leonard asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry the number of hectares applied for under Regulation EEC 1609/89 for private afforestation in the Connaught/Ulster counties to date.

Up to 31 December 1992 applications were received by my Department for forest premiums in respect of 4,200 hectares under EC regulation 1609/89, in the Connaught/Ulster counties.
No applications for afforestation grants were received under this regulation for these counties.
