Vol. 428 No. 3

Adjournment Debate Matters.

I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given to me under Standing Order 20 (3) (a) and the name of the Member in each case: Deputy Alan Shatter — the need for sanction from the Minister for Education to construct Knocklyon community school; Deputy Ivan Yates — when the Government will decide on whether and the way in which its shares in Greencore will be disposed of; if the Government has satisfied itself that the price submitted is reasonable; and the protection, if any, which will be put in place to ensure that overall control of the firm will not in future rest overseas; Deputy Alan Dukes — EC restrictions on carcase weights for intervention beef; Deputy Brian Fitzgerald — the steps the Tánaiste and Minister for Foreign Affairs has taken to secure full payment of funds from the United Nations to the Government for Irish participation in United Nations peacekeeping functions, including UNIFIL and Deputy Eamon Walsh — the proposals of the United Nations Security Council for the establishment of a UN Force in Somalia and whether Ireland has been asked to participate in the force.

I have selected for discussion the matters raised by Deputies Brian Fitzgerald, Dukes and Shatter.
