Question:42 Ms O'Donnell asked the Minister for the Environment if he will give details of the uptake on the plan for social housing; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
I propose to take Questions Nos. 18 and 42 together.
The latest available details of activity by housing authorities under the various schemes introduced in "A Plan for Social Housing" are published in my Department's Housing Statistics Bulletin 1992, copies of which are available in the Oireachtas Library.
A review of the operation of each of these schemes is currently being carried out in my Department. The views of housing authorities and voluntary housing organisations have been sought in the context of the review and will be taken into account. The outcome will be announced as soon as the review is completed.
