Vol. 429 No. 1

Written Answers. - St. Anne's (Dublin) Hospital.

Richard Bruton

Question:

104 Mr. R. Bruton asked the Minister for Health the plans, if any, he has under consideration for the development of facilities in St. Anne's Hospital in Dublin 6; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The services for cancer patients provided at St. Anne's Hospital, Northbrook Road, Dublin are part of a range of services provided by the joint St. Luke's and St. Anne's Hospital Board which was established in 1988 as a Health Corporate Body under the Health Corporate Bodies Act, 1961. A new hospital board was appointed in December last by my predecessor and the new Board, in consultation with my Department, has initiated a review of the roles of both hospitals and the services they provide. I understand that this review will be completed in the coming months after which a formal report will be made to my Department for consideration.
