Vol. 429 No. 3

Written Answers. - Medical Card Application.

Liz McManus

Question:

220 Ms. McManus asked the Minister for Health if he will examine the application for a medical card from a person (details supplied) in County Wicklow in view of the particular hardship and difficulties being experienced in this case.

The granting of a medical card to any individual is a matter for the Chief Executive Officer of the relevant health board.

I have made inquiries of the Eastern Health Board in this matter. I understand that the Chief Executive Officer has reexamined this case and, having regard to the particular circumstances, has decided to issue a medical card to the person in question.
