Question:39 Ms F. Fitzgerald asked the Minister for Finance the number of artists who have received tax relief status under section 2 of the Finance Act, 1969, in each of the years from 1990 to 1992.

The relevant information available is in respect of the income tax years ending on 5 April 1991 and 5 April 1992.
The numbers of individuals who gained tax exemption under section 2 of the Finance Act, 1969, were 64 in the year ended 5 April, 1991 and 110 in the year ended 5 April, 1992.
The corresponding figure for the year ended 5 April, 1993 is not yet available.
