60 Mr. Byrne asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry if he will give details of the costs to date of the Beef Tribunal under Mr. Justice Hamilton.

Total payments made by my Department in respect of the Beef Tribunal up to 31 March 1993 was £5.5 million as follows: legal expenses, salaries, etc. £4.5 million and miscellaneous expenses — accommodation, stenography services, office supplies, telephones, witnesses expenses —£1 million.
