Adjournment Debate Matters.

I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given to me under Standing Order 20 (3) (a) and the name of the Member in each case: (1) Deputy O'Leary — Whether school transport to pupils attending Clonkeen national school in the parish of Glenflesk, Killarney, will be restored as a matter of urgency having regard to the dangerous national primary road on both sides of the school, to the fact that many of the pupils are residing three miles from the school and to the imminent withdrawal of pupils from the school; (2) Deputy Finucane — If, in view of the urgent necessity for a group water scheme at The Hill, Abbeyfeale, County Limerick, the Minister for the Environment will indicate when this project will be approved; (3) Deputy Boylan — The up to date situation in relation to Cavan swimming pool; and the reason this development has not yet been sanctioned; (4) Deputy T. Ahearn — The regulations governing special arrangements for students, with problems such as deafness or dyslexia, who are sitting the junior certificate examinations and leaving certificate examinations in June 1993; (5) Deputy Crowley — The proposed plans for the provision of a new primary school at Tullylease, Charleville, County Cork, as the existing conditions are unacceptable to parents, teachers and children; (6) Deputy Quill — The problems arising from the incineration of waste materials at Cork Regional and other hospitals and the need for a national waste management policy in relation to clinical waste; (7) Deputy Gregory — The proposed relocation of Scoil Chaoimhín, Marlboro Street, Dublin 1, against the wishes of parents and teachers at a cost of £250,000 when there is serious underbudgeting of the primary school building programme; (8) Deputy Ó Cuív — The need to provide money for the modification of buses bringing children to Scoil Caitríona, Renmore, Galway, so that there would be easy access for children in wheelchairs; (9) Deputy M. Kitt — The progress to date on the discussions with members of the Spanish Government in restoring supplies to Dubarry Shoemakers Limited, Ballinasloe, County Galway; (10) Deputy Haughey — The need for the Minister for Education to place a child with special difficulties (details supplied) in a suitable primary school, given that he has had no full-time education since November 1991; (11) Deputy Owen — The efforts made to avoid the loss of 150 jobs at Amdahl, Swords, County Dublin; and whether the Minister for Enterprise and Employment knew about this loss since his visit to the headquarters of Amdahl in the US on 16 March 1993; (12) Deputy Sheehan — The serious situation that exists between the ESB and the Department of Transport, Energy and Communications as the ESB will not process applications by farmers for installation aid grants due to non-payment of grants by the Department under this EC scheme; (13) Deputy Noonan (Limerick East)— The decision by the ESB to close a power station at Allenwood, County Kildare and (14) Deputy E. Ryan — The overpricing of compact discs in this country.

The Ceann Comhairle has selected for discussion the matters raised by Deputies Michael Kitt, Owen, Noonan (Limerick East) and Quill.
