36 Mr. B. O'Keeffe asked the Minister for Education the number of persons within her Department who are currently operating on a work-sharing basis; and if she intends to encourage a higher percentage of her staff to become involved in work-sharing projects.
There are currently 69 officers in my Department operating on a job-sharing basis. The job-sharing scheme provides opportunities for officials in my Department who choose not to work full time and, as a result, the scheme promotes equality of opportunity. It is my policy to encourage and facilitate to the greatest possible extent participation in any scheme which promotes equality.
