Vol. 430 No. 3

Written Answers. - Boyle (Roscommon) School.

Thomas Foxe

Question:

72 Mr. T. Foxe asked the Minister for Education the up-to-date position of the post-primary centre at Boyle, County Roscommon; the reason no progress has been made on developing the centre in the last number of years; when the board of management will be set up; and if she will make a statement on the matter.

A site has been identified for the proposed development of a single post primary school in Boyle, County Roscommon and the Department is seeking to enter into negotiations with the vendor for its acquisition. Until this matter is resolved, the Department is unable to proceed with the planning of the school.

The question of the appointment of a board of management would not normally arise and a building project is nearing completion.
