106 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for the Environment the contracts, if any, recently awarded by Kildare County Council and sanctioned by his Department in respect of water or sewerage schemes; if the lowest tender was recommended or accepted; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

I refer to the reply to Question No. 53 of 29 April 1993.

The most recent tender proposal submitted by Kildare County Council and approved by my Department was in respect of the Lower Liffey Valley sewerage scheme. The proposal which was approved on 1 October 1991, was based on the acceptance of the lowest tender.
