89 Mr. B. O'Keeffe asked the Minister for Education the number of staff to transfer from each vocational education committee to the prospective regional college in their area since the colleges were given autonomy in January 1993.
The question of clerical/ administrative staff transfers from the vocational education committees to the regional technical colleges is inter-linked with the establishment of new non-teaching staffing structures for the regional technical colleges. Negotiations regarding these new staffing structures are at an advanced stage. However, I am not in a position to say how many staff will transfer from the vocational education committees involved until those negotiations are completed.
