Written Answers. - ODA Funds Beneficiaries.

Question:

59 Mr. Durkan asked the Tánaiste and Minister for Foreign Affairs the locations in which ODA funds are likely to be spent in 1993; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Total Irish Overseas Development Assistance in 1993 is expected to amount to £53 million equivalent to 0.20 per cent of GNP. Details of the distribution of this expenditure, of which only some 60 per cent comes from the Vote for International Co-operation, are set out in the following table.

From the total of £53 million, £28 million consists of multilateral assistance. Bilateral Assistance — £24 million — is divided between the Bilateral Aid Fund, the Agency for Personal Service Overseas, Emergency Humanitarian Assistance and Refugees.

Only part of the Bilateral Aid Fund has a predetermined geographical destination. The details are as follows:
