Vol. 432 No. 6

Written Answers. - Orthodontic Treatment.

Andrew Boylan

Question:

200 Mr. Boylan asked the Minister for Health the reason he has not replied to Deputy Mr. Boylan's query of 5 May 1993 in respect of a person (details supplied) in County Cavan in relation to orthodontic treatment; if he will provide moneys towards the treatment in view of the fact that in a similar situation, his Department provided some moneys towards the expense, even though the patient was treated privately.

The provision of orthodontic treatment for persons in the Cavan area is a matter for the North-Eastern Health Board. The health board has responded to my request for detailed information in the case and I have now issued a full reply to the Deputy.
