Vol. 432 No. 6

Written Answers. - Glanmire (Cork) School.

Bernard Allen

Question:

210 Mr. Allen asked the Minister for Education when a decision will be made in respect of Scoil Triest, Glanmire, County Cork, to allow them go through the planning permission process especially in view of the fact that, in 1986, tender documents were ready and, in 1991, her Department requested and obtained widespread plans; and if a decision will now be given in view of the fact that this is a six-class primary school catering for the mentally handicapped and that there are grave shortages of such schools in the Cork area.

The proposal to build a new school in this case, which involves a very major capital project, is under review in my Department at present. My Department will be in communication with the school authorities as soon as possible.
