228 Mr. Callely asked the Minister for Education if she will review her Department's policy whereby national schools wishing to make an educational trip in excess on one day's duration must apply for departmental approval; if she will extend the duration; and if she will make a statement on the matter.

The issue referred to by the Deputy whereby school authorities must apply to the Department for permission to allow educational trips in excess of one day is at present under review in my Department. It is hoped to complete this review at an early date.
