Vol. 432 No. 6

Written Answers. - Expanded Wage Subsidy Scheme.

Donal Carey

Question:

44 Mr. Carey asked the Minister for Enterprise and Employment when the National Pre-Return to Work Counselling Service will be established; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

I take it that the Deputy is referring to the commitment in the Programme for a Partnership Government for the establishment of a National Counselling Service for persons hired under the expanded wage subsidy scheme proposed in the programme.

I have indicated that proposals for the new wage subsidy scheme will be considered in the context of the funding made available to FÁS under the Community Support Framework 1994-99, as will other elements which it is intended would be associated with that scheme.
