Vol. 432 No. 7

Written Answers. - Blackpool (Cork) By-Pass.

Pat Cox

Question:

22 Mr. Cox asked the Minister for the Environment if he has satisfied himself that the design of the proposed Blackpool by-pass in Cork city will yield the best possible road infrastructure to service the industrial, commercial, social, as well as traffic management needs of the area; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

I expect, shortly, to be able to make decisions on Cork Corporation's application for certification of this proposed developmental in accordance with the environmental impact procedures and for confirmation of the relevant compulsory purchase order. In view of my quasi-judicial role in relation to these matters, it would not be appropriate for me to comment further at this stage.
