Vol. 432 No. 7

Written Answers. - Donegal Town By-Pass.

Dinny McGinley

Question:

79 Mr. McGinley asked the Minister for the Environment if the survey for the proposed by-pass of Donegal town has been completed; if a firm route line has been established; when land will be purchased; and when work will commence on the project.

A ground survey of the preferred corridor for the proposed by-pass has been carried out by Donegal County Council. I understand that the council has identified a possible route which extends from a point near Laghey village to a point on the N15 near Clar. A compulsory purchase order for the acquisition of lands necessary for the scheme is being prepared by the council who expect to submit it to me in the near future. Subject to the outcome of the statutory procedures involved work on this project could commence in 1994.
