Question:

18 Miss Quill asked the Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry the number of pigs killed and processed in the State in the first quarter of 1993; and the way this compares with the same period in 1992.

The number of pigs slaughtered in the State in the first three months of 1993 was 995,000 as compared with 920,000 in the same period in 1992; an 8 per cent increase in throughput.
