Question:285 Mr. McGrath asked the Minister for Education the total allocation by her Department under the capital grant scheme for each of the years from 1980 to 1992.
Written Answers. - Capital Grant Scheme.
Provision for the capital grant scheme for the provision of recreational facilities was first made in the Estimates for Public Services in 1981. The total allocation for each of the years 1981 to 1992 is as set out in the following statement.
Since 1988 the capital grants scheme for the provision of recreational facilities has been funded from the proceeds of the national lottery. In 1990 this scheme was amalgamated with the amenity grant scheme operated by the Department of the Environment. Since 1990 the funding provided to the Department in respect of this scheme has been to meet the expenditure on ongoing projects.
