Adjournment Debate Matters.

I wish to advise the House of the following matters in respect of which notice has been given under Standing Order 20 and the name of the Member in each case: (1) Deputy Sargent — The resources available to the Wildlife Service and whether the Minister for Finance has any plans to upgrade the service in the Dublin area which at present is covered by one officer who is often called to surrounding counties as well; (2) Deputy Crawford — When the next tenant purchase scheme will be offered to local authorities; (3) Deputy Deenihan — the threatened closure to Kerry County Council of Ballinagher Bridge, County Kerry, resulting in major inconvenience to 30 families in the Lixnaw/Ballyduff areas and to tourists who use this route during the summer; (4) Deputy Jim O'Keeffe — The need to include, in the terms of reference of the Telephone Users Advisory Group, a provision to enable it to investigate and report on the discrimination that exists in that Dublin city, county and adjacent areas is all being classified as one local call area whereas Cork city and county is not similarly classified; (5) Deputy Boylan — The proposed sale of 40 acres at Ballyhaise Agricultural College, County Cavan; (6) Deputy Molloy — The need for the Minister for Education to make arrangements for the provision of a school building for September, 1993 for the Galway school project committee; (7) Deputy Sheehan — The need to progress Caheragh group water scheme, County Cork; (8) Deputy Doyle — The urgent need for beach nourishment at Rosslare Strand as part of the coastal protection and maintenance works for 1993; (9) Deputy Coughlan — The necessity for the Minister for Transport, Energy and Communications to intervene on behalf of the people of Donegal Town to insist that the bus stop is removed from The Diamond, Donegal Town; (10) Deputy Michael McDowell — The detention of John Matthews under the Prevention of Terrorism Act after his arrest at Heathrow Airport on 27 April, 1993; (11) Deputy Finucane — The need for a fair wage structure for the nursing and other staff of Rathfredagh Cheshire Home, Newcastle West, County Limerick, comparable to the scales of similar staff in the health boards; (12) Deputy Lowry — The urgent necessity to provide Government funding towards the relief fund established to alleviate the financial hardship imposed on the farmers involved in the Ballyfinboy drainage scheme at Borrisokane, County Tipperary, resulting from loss of litigation proceedings brought against them by the contractor; (13) Deputy Theresa Ahearn — The lack of regulations imposing an obligation on builders and/or suppliers of double glazed windows and doors to install adequate ventilation systems at the time of fitting and the very serious risk of fatalities, as proven by a double tragedy in south Tipperary recently and (14) Deputy De Rossa — The reports that Ireland is now likely to receive well below the promised £8.8 billion in EC Structural Funds and the need for urgent action to ensure that our share is not reduced.
